Hot Ink Creative Writing for Teens

WHERE: Richmond High School (7171 Minoru Blvd), Room 105

DESCRIPTION: A creative writing program for teen girls that encompasses writing exercises & activities, workshopping sessions, field trips, and the publication of a year-end magazine.

FACILITATOR: MELISSA SAWATSKY

Melissa writes in a variety of genres, including poetry, short fiction, creative non-fiction, and screenwriting. She has a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from UBC and also participated in The Writer’s Studio certificate program at SFU.

Her work has appeared in a variety of publications, including OCW Magazine, Quills, Sad Mag, Rhubarb, and emerge 2006. She is excited about the opportunity to facilitate the growth of emerging female writers through the Hot Ink program.
